I have mentioned this to you before when it came on the market. But I got one. It has an integrated Thunderbolt cable. I have an older one that travels in my checked luggage that I use with SuperDuper for image backups (which I suggest is the best product for that) and TimeMachine for the normal stuff. I have a different Lacie external at home on my desk for the same purposes. Nice TM supports two disk now. But I wanted another rugged to use for a number of things. To carry ISOs, movies, files, and even image backups while I was out and on the road. And I really like the rugged brand and an integrated cable is handy. Check out the pictures.

As for speed, I can say it is fast. My image backups are quite a bit faster (then the previous one like it I have) but what that translates to in numbers I am not sure. There are 1 and 2 TB versions of this with a disk, and 250 / 500 with SSD. The SSD are pricier of course but also faster.
So I am happy with this cool gadget and I have had 2 or 3 previous versions of it from the same line and have been or am still very happy with them all.
Michael
